October 25th // Virgin Mega Whore - Body of Work

I've heard this band was actually imprisoned for their choice of band name. Virgin sued them and demanded they go to jail instead of just paying up. Not sure how much truth there is to this.

October 18th // Microphones - Ocean 1,2,3

The vocals are a bit hard to get used to, but overall it's a very pretty song.

October 13th // YAWN - Kind of Guy

The video is not in perfect sync, check it out on their official site instead (it's good): http://www.yawntheband.com/Yawn/Yawn.html

October 9th // The Books - A Cold Freezing Night

The video and song goes so well together, they're hardly inseparable. Not sure how I feel about the band's other songs.

October 8th // Parenthetical Girls - Evelyn McHale

Evelyn McHale, a 23-year-old woman who jumped from the Empire State Building observation deck on May 1, 1947 and was photographed immediately after by Robert Wiles in beautifully serene repose atop a crushed car.

October 7th // Born Ruffians - Red Yellow and Blue

Very cozy song about how one might reason when making a flag for an imaginary country.

October 4th // Klaxons - Two Receivers

Maybe a bit too polished sound for my taste, but a great tune nonetheless!

September 30th // Neutral Milk Hotel

A lot of people have probably heard this, but since it's one of my absolute favorite songs I'll take the chance and hope someone will discover the beauty in this piece.

September 23rd // Broder Daniel - No Time For Us

Keeping up the Swedish theme, here's a very special song. It was played at the memorial service of my friend who was murdered in February earlier this year.

September 22nd // Garbochock - Invasion

I doubt anyone's heard this. Very obscure Swedish band from 1980. One of the first really good bands I ever listened to. Very hard to find anything on the internet by them but a reunion gig they did a couple of years ago.

September 21th // Chromatics - Beach of Infants

Back then I used to listen to everything from Gold Standard Labs. Good stuff. Now Chromatics has a female singer and they play decent electro.

September 4th // Neon Indian - Deadbeat Summer

A song that grows on you. It really captures the feeling of a summer day that's just a little bit too warm.
